Hyannis House Party Stabbing: Man Guilty Of First-Degree Murder

Kelly Ridley Jr. was convicted of fatally stabbing another man at a house party when he was 18 years old.

HYANNIS, MA – A man charged in a fatal stabbing at a house party in 2016 was found guilty of murder Wednesday. Kelly Ridley Jr., 20, of Hyannis, was convicted of first-degree murder by extreme atrocity or cruelty in the death of 26-year-old Thomas Russell Jr. at a house party in 2016, according to the Cape Cod Times.

Ridley was also found guilty of two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Authorities said Ridley, then 18 years old, fatally stabbed Russell and hit him with a metal scooter during a fight at a party on Beth Lane the night of Oct. 22, 2016. Ridley also stabbed a second man, who survived.

Russell, who a witness said was stabbed nine times by Ridley, died from blood loss, the Times reported.
