Training Drill Turns Real When Barnstable Police Rescue 2 Boaters
The police marine unit were about to conduct a training when they were called to rescue two women whose kayak capsized near Kalmus Beach.

BARNSTABLE, MA — A training exercise turned real for Barnstable police when they rescued two boaters.
On Friday afternoon the police marine unit were about to conduct a training exercise when they were called to rescue two women whose kayak capsized near Kalmus Beach. Police with the help of Yarmouth Natural Resources and the Barnstable harbormaster pulled the women into shore at the Hyannisport Yacht Club.
Hyannis fire officials evaluated the boaters and took them to Cape Cod Hospital. Police said no major injuries were suspected.
