The free program brought together children from 40 Middlesex County communities to explore police, fire, emergency services, and even cybersecurity, while building leadership and confidence alongside local public safety professionals.
   

3. Watch Live: Lindsay Clancy murder trial resumes as defense could call final witness (cbsnews.com) — Belmont gets a brief mention as the home of McLean Hospital, where a TikTok user who worked there was barred from testifying in the high-profile Lindsay Clancy murder trial. The case, unfolding in Plymouth Superior Court, centers on whether Clancy is criminally responsible for the deaths of her three children amid claims of postpartum psychosis and overmedication, with emotional testimony and visible advocacy for better maternal mental health care.
   

4. Brownsberger faces off with Lander, Mayor Wu's preferred candidate, in debate over Senate seat (wgbh.org) — Belmont's state senator Will Brownsberger faced challenger Daniel Lander in a Democratic primary debate focused on the Suffolk and Middlesex district, including Belmont. The candidates agreed on broad housing reforms but clashed over rent control and legislative effectiveness, with Lander calling the Legislature inefficient and Brownsberger defending his record on immigration protections and affordable housing.
