• Beverly Student Named National Merit Commended Student (patch.com) — Beverly readers can celebrate local senior Jessica Hynes, who has been named a National Merit Commended Student for scoring among the top 50,000 PSAT takers nationwide. The Bishop Fenwick High School standout, a Saints Academy graduate from Beverly, is also deeply involved in DECA, National Honor Society, and varsity softball, underscoring her strong academic and extracurricular record.
   

• Weekend Storm Forecast Postpones Beverly Police Car Show (patch.com) — Beverly residents planning to visit the Police Car & Food Truck event at Lynch Park should note it's been postponed to Oct. 18 due to a looming nor'easter. The rescheduled show will still feature classic cars, food trucks, a DJ, K9 demonstration, and special 2026 Beverly Police Car Show patches, with proceeds supporting the North Shore Warriors Powerlifting Program.
   

• Beverly's Endicott College Climbs In U.S. News Regional University Rankings (patch.com) — Endicott College in Beverly just jumped to No. 19 among Regional Universities North in the 2027 U.S. News & World Report rankings, its best showing yet. The school also earned top marks for innovation, undergraduate teaching, and co-ops, highlighting its long-running focus on internships and experiential learning that can benefit current and future Beverly-area students.
