Beverly Middle School Sent Into Lockdown Upon System Initiation (patch.com) — Families in Beverly learned that Beverly Middle School briefly went into lockdown Tuesday afternoon after the safety system was accidentally activated. Superintendent Peter Cushing said Beverly police and school officials cleared every room according to protocol and confirmed that all students and staff were safe and there was no threat.
   

2. North Shore Chamber Seeks Minuteman Service Award Nominations Ahead Of Veterans Breakfast (patch.com) — Beverly's North Shore Chamber of Commerce is inviting nominations for its Minuteman Service Award, honoring exceptional support for veterans and military communities across Massachusetts. The award will be presented at the chamber's Nov. 6 Salute to Veterans breakfast in Danvers, with nominations due Sept. 30.
   

3. Beverly Team Tops $10K Goal Ahead Of Ride & Stride For Food (patch.com) — Beverly residents might be proud to hear that Team Beverly Bootstraps has already surpassed its $10,000 fundraising goal ahead of the upcoming Ride & Stride for Food. The 10-person team's efforts will directly support Beverly Bootstraps' Food Pantry and Food Lockers, helping neighbors facing food insecurity. Community members still have time to contribute and boost the impact before the Sept. 27 event.
   

4. Monday's area roundup: Beverly volleyball rallies past Masco for dramatic win (cnhi.com) — Beverly High's volleyball team staged a thrilling home comeback over Masconomet, winning in five sets behind standout performances from several Panthers. Beverly's girls and boys soccer teams also notched convincing shutout wins, and the golf squad topped Peabody at Wenham Country Club, giving local fans plenty to cheer about across multiple sports.
