6 Hospitalized, Butcher Knife-Wielding Man Arrested In Wild Scene At Bus Station: Reports

A man stabbing bus tires threatened to stab people as well, according to reports.

BOSTON, MA — Six were hospitalized and a man wielding a butcher knife was arrested following a wild scene at the MBTA's Forest Hills station in Jamaica Plain Friday morning, according to reports.

"Transit Police Chief Richard Sullivan reported that officers were dispatched to the Forest Hills bus station around 11:15 a.m. for a call about a man with a knife," the Mirror reported. "The man was reportedly threatening people and attempting to stab bus tires."

As transit police officers attempted to arrest the man, one of their guns fired, but no one was struck, according to WCVB.

"A struggle ensued, and instantly, the suspect grabbed for the officer's weapon," Sullivan said in the WCVB story. "They continued to struggle, and ultimately the officers gained control of him during that initial struggle. Somehow there was a discharge of the officer's weapon."

Two police officers were among the six hospitalized, per Boston 25.

"The initial officer involved sustained a knee injury and was taken to a hospital," according to 7 News Boston. "A second officer involved was also taken to a hospital."
