Boston Red Sox Postpone White House Trip
The five-week shutdown has caused logistical issues and changed plans for the World Series Champions.

BOSTON, MA — The Boston Red Sox have postponed their trip to the Whitehouse because of the government shutdown. League sources said the trip for winning the World Series is expected to happen on May 9.
The World Series champions were supposed to visit the White House and President Donald Trump on Feb. 15, before the start of spring training. However, the five-week shutdown has caused logistical issues and changed plans, the Boston Globe reported.
News of the postponement came shortly before Trump announced the government would temporarily reopen for three weeks, but that reopening is set to expire Feb. 15 - the same day the Sox were initially scheduled to go.

Team president Sam Kennedy previously said the team would "adjust" if the shutdown lingered, saying a visit would be deemed "inappropriate," while federal workers aren't getting paid.
