BOSTON, MA —If you haven't blocked out what last summer looked like with warnings to take public transportation and work from home as MassDOT replaced the eastbound side of the Commonwealth Avenue bridge and the Green Line tracks, it's going to be pretty much that, again. Get ready for Round 2 of Comm Ave Bridge Construction and replacement starting July 26.

Drivers who use the Mass Pike to get into Boston or use the Comm Ave Bridge to get over toward Cambridge or BU - or folks who take the B line into Boston get ready for disruption city. The second phase of the Commonwealth Avenue bridge replacement project is set to start July 26.

Three 600-ton cranes will be used to move 45 steel beams into place and lay 215 pre-fabricated bridge deck panels, according to MassDOT. Crews will spread 680 cubic yards of concrete and 520 tons of asphalt to complete the second half of the bridge.
