After a mom tweeted about her 9-year-old daughter's missing giraffe lost at Boston Logan Airport, it struck a chord.

BOSTON, MA — Are you going to Boston Logan Airport today? Keep your eyes peeled for a well loved pink baby giraffe. The lifetime favorite toy was left behind as a family was in transit this weekend. When mom put out a BOLO on Twitter for "Hornzy Twigs," the tweet struck a nerve.

We were in terminal B between the sidewalk and the American Airlines check in area. The giraffe's name is Hornzy Twigs. (Our last name is Thacher.) Here is a sketch by my daughter. I reported to @BostonLogan lost & found already pic.twitter.com/c7C0s1ArvT

Erica Fletcher said her daughter is doing OK, and the family are trying to have a vacation in California, although the unexpected popularity of the tweet has meant a lot of time on Twitter.
"It's been nuts," said Fletcher in a message to Patch. As of Monday afternoon, though, she hadn't heard anything from officials at Logan or American Airlines.
The good side to the tweet's popularity? As some joked on Twitter, it's got more attention than some humans get when they go missing. The downside? It may be that much more difficult for Fletcher's daughter if the beloved fuzzy friend doesn't actually turn up in the end.
"If anything the media storm has given her more hope and it may be harder if Hornzy doesn't turn up," Fletcher told Patch.
Here's hoping all the eyes out for Hornzy result in reuniting the stuffed giraffe with its family.
