Woman Seriously Injured After Jumping From I-90 Bridge In Boston

A preliminary investigation suggests the incident was a suicide attempt, said police.

BOSTON, MA — A woman is suffering from serious injuries after jumping from the Carlton St. overpass onto the westbound side of I-90 Thursday evening, said Massachusetts State Police in a news release.

The incident took place at approximately 6:05 p.m., said police. First responders rushed to the scene and immediately undertook emergency medical aid in an attempt to save her life. The woman survived the jump, but was taken to Tufts Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicates that the woman jumped from the overpass in a suicide attempt.

The woman's identity has not been released and there is no update on her condition at this time.
