Abington Family Deaths Were Murder-Suicide: DA
Authorities said Joseph Zaccardi shot his wife, Deirdre, and three children ages 9-11 before taking his own life.

ABINGTON, MA — The state Medical Examiner declared the deaths of an Abington family a murder-suicide, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's office. Joseph Zaccardi, 43, shot his wife and three children before taking his own life at the family's condominium, District Attorney Timothy Cruz announced Wednesday.
Deirdre Zaccardi, 40, and the couple's children, Alexis Zaccardi, 11, and twins Nathaniel and Kathryn Zaccardi, 9, all died.
Around 7:30 a.m. Monday, a relative stopped by the family's Centre Avenue home to bring one of the children to school and found the body of Deirdre Zaccardi. Officers searched the house and found the bodies of the four other family members, Cruz said.
