Braintree Coronavirus: 13 More Residents Die
Sixty-one Braintree residents have died after contracting the new coronavirus.
BRAINTREE, MA — Another 13 Braintree residents have died after contracting the new coronavirus, according to town health officials. As of Monday, 573 residents have tested positive for the virus with 61 fatalities.
The news comes as the death toll surpassed 3,000 across the commonwealth bringing the number. The Massachusetts Department of Public Health also reported Monday an additional 1,524 cases of the virus. The total cases in Norfolk County was 5,398.
Braintree health officials reminded residents that it's mandatory to wear a mask or face covering in public. Resident should also take of the following steps to limit the spread of the new coronavirus:

- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Frequently clean commonly touched surfaces, including electronics, door knobs and countertops.
- Avoid sharing food utensils, containers and other personal items.
- Practice "social distancing" by maintaining a distance of 6 feet from others.
- Stay home from work if you are sick.
- Practice proper cough etiquette. Cover your mouth or nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing, throw the tissue away and wash or sanitize your hands. If a tissue isn't available, cough or sneeze into your elbow/upper sleeve.
