Braintree Duo Charged in Train Station Robbery
Police say the two allegedly ran off with a cell phone they agreed to buy from a seller.

BRAINTREE, MA — A Braintree duo faces charges after allegedly setting up a meet-up with someone looking to sell and iPhone and sealing the phone.
Jeffery Diauto, 20, and a 17-year-old juvenile, both of Braintree, were arrested last night and charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and unarmed robbery, according to MBTA transit police.
On March 9 at about 2:40 p.m., transit police responded to a report of a disturbance at the Braintree train station. At the scene, a 22-year-old man told police that he pre-arranged to meet two unknown men who agreed to buy his iPhone 6.

While the two suspects were "inspecting" the victim's phone in the parking garage, they allegedly sped off in the vehicle they arrived in. The victim in an attempt to retrieve his phone held onto the vehicle and was dragged a short distance before landing on the pavement sustaining abrasions about his body.
Police later located Diauto and the teen last night.
