Braintree Man Charged In Brockton Stabbing

BROCKTON, MA — A Braintree man stabbed a man while attempting to commit a robbery in Brockton, police said.

Joseph Moran Jr., 58, was arrested Thursday night and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to the Enterprise.

After officers responded to a reported stabbing outside of Pizza Maria on Oak Street, police learned that a middle-aged man wearing a jean jacket allegedly stabbed a 20-year-old. When Moran was located by police, he said that he was drinking with the victim and the victim was coming at him and verbally attacking him.

The victim, however, said he did not know Moran and told police that the suspect demanded money from him.

Moran was due in Brockton District Court Friday.
