From the Town of Braintree:
BRAINTREE, MA — On the morning of April 6, 2017 at 9 a.m., Mayor Joseph C. Sullivan will be joined by members of Braintree’s Veterans community to mark the 100th Anniversary of American entry into World War I. The Mayor, accompanied by the Commanders of Braintree’s three Veterans’ posts, will lay a wreath on the Town Hall Mall in front of the memorial which bears the names of Braintree residents who served in the First World War.
“It is important that we pause on the sixth to recall the sacrifices made by Braintree residents during the World War I” said Sullivan. “Although no Veteran of this war is still alive to share this observation with us, the passage of time has in no way reduced our obligation to remember their devotion to duty and our continuous debt for their heroic service to our country.
