Braintree is the fourth most boring town in Massachusetts, says Movoto, a real estate brokerage site that published an article naming the ten most boring towns in the state.
The website published an article on Friday saying, “If you think of rich history, wicked awesome culture, and excitement when you hear ‘Massachusetts,’ you clearly haven’t been to these ten places.”

Movoto judged these towns by looking at data from the 2010 census for the top 50 most populated towns in the state and ranked them based on various factors. Braintree was judged by its nightlife, music venues, outdoor activities, parks, movie theaters, fast food restaurants, age of residents, and population density.
The article says that the most exciting thing about Braintree is that it is close to Boston and the town name is “kinda cool.”

What Braintree lacks in nightlife, it makes up for in fast food restaurants. The community was number one on the list for having the most amount of fast food places in the state, claims Motov.
Braintree Mayor Joseph Sullivan believes that sometimes it’s good to be boring. “If history is boring then we must be the most boring place in the word,” he said.
Sullivan added that Braintree is the home of not one, but two United States presidents, John Adams and John Quincy Adams.
The town also has the lowest tax rate in Norfolk County. “It’s a great place to visit and a great place to live,” said Sullivan.
Braintree is home to South Shore Plaza, the largest shopping center in New England, which brings in 30,000 people a day, according to Sullivan.
The Braintree community has highways in close proximity to the town including Route 128, Route 3 and Route 95, which is what Sullivan attributes to the high amount of fast food places in the town.
”I think that all adds up to a quality community. If that labels it as boring, then so be it, but I think we’re anything but,” said Sullivan.
Things could be worse for the Town of Braintree. For example, it could be Leominster, Attleboro, and Brockton, who ranked as the first, second, and third most boring towns in Massachusetts, respectively.
