Braintree Police Arrest Two for Drunk Driving
The two arrests came over a three-day period.

BRAINTREE, MA — Two people were arrested over three days for driving while drunk, police said.
On July 23 at about 9 p.m., an officer on patrol near the intersection of Liberty and Grove Streets observed a vehicle with an apparent flat tire drive into the parking lot he was in, according to Police Chief Russell Jenkins. While speaking to the driver, the officer made observations that led him to believe that the driver was impaired.
The driver, William Fitzpatrick, 28, of Holbrook, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol (second offense).

Two days later, a second arrested was made. On July 25 at about 1 a.m., an officer was flagged down by a driver for a woman who was reportedly slumped over the steering wheel of her vehicle at a light on Granite Street, Jenkins said. The officer allegedly found the driver with the vehicle in "drive." The officer positioned his vehicle in front of hers to prevent it from going forward into the intersection and attempted to rouse her after putting the vehicle in “park.”
After several attempts of shaking her she became alert enough to speak to officers. As the officers spoke to her they made observations that led them to believe she was impaired, according to Jenkins.
