Braintree Recycling: New Program For Plastic Items

From Braintree Recycling:

New program for residents, to facilitate getting rid of what are called rigid plastic items. Examples are plastic lawn furniture, backyard playground equipment/playhouses, small hard plastic pools, plastic clothes hangers, dish drainers, and toys. Other items include large water jugs, flower pots, pails, laundry baskets, step stools, pet carriers, plastic storage bins, and household trash containers.

These items need to be recycled separately from curbside recycling due to the recycling processing plant having to change equipment for rigid vs. regular plastic recycling items.

Not Accepted: Oil or chemical containers, hoses, PVC pipe and no beverage containers.

Rigid plastic items can be taken to a special container at the Recycling Center/257 Ivory St. Open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. Closed on Wednesday, Sunday, and holidays.
