Dorchester Duo Charged With Fleeing South Shore Plaza With Stolen Merchandise
Plus, a Holbrook man faces drunken driving charges after allegedly nearly driving into a police cruiser.

BRAINTREE, MA — Two Dorchester residents attempted to leave a store at the South Shore Plaza with items they didn't pay for, police said.
Linda Ta, 22, and Phuong Le, 21, were arrested and charged with two counts of larceny over $250 and receiving stolen property over $250, according to Police Chief Russell Jenkins.
On Aug. 8 just before 7 p.m. Loss Prevention officers at Lord and Taylor told police that two females had concealed several pieces of merchandise and left the store without paying. Moments after the call, an officer witnessed two females enter a vehicle in front of the store and drive away at a high rate of speed, Jenkins said.

The vehicle was stopped on Common Street. During the search, merchandise that was allegedly stolen was recovered.
In other police news, a Holbrook man was taken into custody that same day after allegedly nearly striking a police cruiser.

Just before midnight, a caller reported an erratic driver near the area of Washington and Franklin Streets. When officers arrived, a white truck that was coming towards the cruiser cross the middle line and nearly hit the police vehicle, Jenkins said.
Following an investigation, Jake Barrios, 24, arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, failure to stay within marked lanes and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
