Escape Attempt Down Train Tracks Ends Predictably Bad
Police say a wild multi-town chase ended in a Holbrook man's arrest.

HOLBROOK, MA — In a scene seemingly straight out of Grand Theft Auto, police on Saturday chased a minivan which allegedly hit police cruisers, tried to escape down train tracks, and crashed into a Commuter Rail station barricade.
At the end of it all, 28-year-old William Ayers, of Holbrook, was arrested and hit with a number of charges. A Holbrook officer suffered what police said were minor injuries.
The chase went between Holbrook to Randolph, where Ayers was turned back by police cruisers near the train station, according to reports. Police said Ayers tried to escape toward Braintree by driving down railroad tracks, but a train blocked his path at the station. When he tried to drive off the tracks, he was blocked by barricades.
