High Temperatures Prompt Cooing Centers in Braintree

Cooling centers will be available for those looking to beat the heat.

From the Town of Braintree:

Mayor Joseph C. Sullivan has announced that in anticipation of the extremely hot weather on Thursday, Aug. 11, the following town buildings have been designated as cooling centers: Thayer Public Library, Town Hall, the Braintree Department of Elder Affairs, and the town office building at 85 Quincy Ave.

“Tomorrow’s temperatures are expected to reach into the 90s with the heat index making it feel over 100,” Sullivan said. “I invite any resident in need to utilize our town buildings as shelters from the heat and humidity.”
