Police Investigating Common Street Break-in

Police in Braintree are investigating a housebreak reported by Common Street residents Tuesday evening.

On Dec. 22, the homeowners were contacted by a family member at approximately 5:30 p.m. and informed that someone had been in their home, according to Police Chief Russ Jenkins.

When the two homeowners returned, they discovered that the house had been ransacked. Entry was gained through the bulkhead leading into the basement and the basement door was pried open.

Watches and handbags were taken from the home, according to Jenkins.
