Officers deployed a K-9 and located the party secreted beneath a motor vehicle outside a residence on the corner of Liberty and East Division Streets. Initial information indicates that Dussourd came out from under the vehicle brandishing a knife. The two Braintree officers on scene attempted to de-escalate the situation, deploying multiple revolutions of non-lethal measures, including shooting the suspect with a bean-bag gun. The subject continued to brandish the knife and was shot by police, the DA's office said.

Officers immediately began life-saving measures and Dussourd was transported to nearby South Shore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
