Suspect Still At Large Days After 2 Teens Killed In Braintree
No suspect has been publicly identified days after Jahzier Porter, 16, and Jayden Santos-Andrade, 19, died in a shooting in Braintree.
BRAINTREE, MA — Police are still seeking a suspect after two teenagers were killed in Braintree early Sunday morning.
As of Tuesday morning, no suspect has been publicly identified after Jahzier Porter, a 16-year-old Braintree High School student, and Jayden Santos-Andrade, 19, of Dorchester, died in the shooting.
Officers responded to multiple 911 calls of shots fired around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the area of Alfred Road, police said. They found the victims as well as a third person who was not injured in a parked vehicle, according to police, who said both of the teens who were struck died at a hospital.

“Any member of the public who believes they have information, or who lives in the area of Albert Road and may have seen anything unusual during the 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. time frame, or whose Ring or similar doorbell camera may have captured anything unusual, is urged to contact the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit in the District Attorney’s Office at 781-830-4990 or the Braintree Police at 781-794-8620,” Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said in a news release Sunday.
There were no signs of assailants when officers reached the scene, Morrissey said during a press conference published by NBC 10 Boston, noting law enforcement believed there was likely more than one attacker as multiple shell casings were found in the area.

“This is a very, very bad tragedy that we’ve had here in Braintree and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family,” Mayor Charles Kokoros said at the press conference, adding he was working with school district leadership to make grief counselors available to students.
Morrissey added Sunday that officials had “detectives in the field from Braintree and State Police trying to gather evidence of what happened and who may have been involved."
Authorities are investigating the incident as a double homicide, police said over the weekend, adding they have assigned extra law enforcement units to the area near the scene but that they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to public safety.
