Drunk Driver Drags Trooper Down I-93: Police
Police say the trooper was dragged 15 yards before he was able to break free.

BRAINTREE, MA — A Lynn man who apparently stopped to take photos of a crash on I-93 is due in court after driving while drunk and dragging a state trooper down the interstate in Braintree, police said. Jose M. Molina, 30, of Lynn, was expected in Quincy District Court Thursday on multiple charges. He was in police custody on $20,000 cash bail, according to State Police.
Molina's interaction with police began Wednesday at 11 p.m. Police say a Honda Accord stopped in the right lane - the only open lane at the time due to a crash. Molina allegedly stopped to take a picture of the crash scene with his cell phone.
When he was asked by a trooper to keep driving, Molina allegedly responded with profanities. Molina's vehicle then began to roll forward before being asked to stop by police. Molina allegedly ignored the order and began to drive faster, hitting a trooper in the process. Another trooper attempted to stop the car by reaching inside and shutting off the ignition, but Molina allegedly grabbed his arm and began to drive even faster. The trooper was dragged about 15 yards before he was able to break free, police said.
