Two Charged With Breaking Into Several Cars Across Braintree
Police say Morgado Viega and Bernardino Goncalves stole items from cars on Elm Street, Independence Avenue, and Skyline Drive.

BRAINTREE, MA — Two people have been arrested following numerous reports of break-ins across Braintree.
Morgado Viega of Dorchester and Bernardino Goncalves of Weymouth were placed under arrest early Thursday morning and charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony, according to the Braintree Police Department.
Police say the majority of the break-ins took place near the 100 block of Elm Street, 41 Independence Ave., and Skyline Drive. Police took the suspects into custody following a foot chase and the use of a K9 unit on Skyline Drive.

Thursday afternoon, police located a stolen motor vehicle on Skyline Drive with items consistent with the items that were reported stolen from Elm Street and Independence Avenue, police said. The vehicles that were broken into were unlocked, leading police to remind residents to lock their doors.
