Two Charged With Stealing Nearly $5,000 in Merchandise from South Shore Plaza Stores

Manuel D. Eusebio, 39, of Brooklyn, NY and Gerinerdo Beltre, 37, of Dorchester were arrested on Saturday afternoon, after allegedly stealing several thousand dollars worth of merchandise from several stores at the South Shore Plaza. Macy’s loss prevention alerted police to the suspicious actions of the two men who were observed, among other things, making several trips back and forth from Macy’s to their vehicle.
A visual check of the interior of the vehicle revealed what appeared to be a quantity of stolen merchandise in the back seat. Officer Corey Chambers met up with loss prevention and watched on surveillance cameras as the two men selected and concealed merchandise.

Both men were later detained and the merchandise in the vehicle seized. In total, Almost $2,200 worth of merchandise, allegedly stolen from Macy’s, was recovered from the vehicle, along with over $2,700 allegedly stolen from six other stores at the mall.
Eusebio and Beltre were both placed under arrest and charged with larceny over $250 and six counts of receiving stolen property over $250.
