Webster Woman Meets New Friend at Braintree Restaurant, Robs Her Shortly Later

Webster woman is charged with stealing from a Quincy woman she met and befriended at a local restaurant.
Kayla Obuchowski, 26, was arrested early Monday morning and charged with larceny over $250, assault and battery and larceny of a credit card, according to Police Chief Russ Jenkins.
The victim, a 31-year-old Quincy woman, told police that she and her boyfriend met Obuchowski at TGI Friday’s at South Shore Place. After striking up a conversation, Obuchowski struck up a conversation with them and suggested that they get together.

While the victim’s boyfriend returned to their hotel, Obuchowski and the Quincy woman drove to a local convenience store to pick up a few items. As the victim was shopping in the store, Obuchowski allegedly removed money and a debit card from the woman’s wallet that was left in the vehicle.
After the Quincy woman confronted Obuchowski about the missing items, Obuchowski denied any wrongdoing, punched the woman in the face, pulled her hair, exited the vehicle, and ran off.

The woman was able to chase down Obuchowski and flagged down a passing police cruiser. Money believed to belong to the Quincy woman was recovered from Obuchowski’s coat pocket and she was placed under arrest.
