West Virginia Man Arrested in Braintree Gets Life in Prison for Homicide
Philip Casto was arrested at the South Shore Plaza the day after he fled West Virginia following a murder.

A West Virginia man who was arrested in Braintree the day after killing a 27-year-old woman will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Philip Casto, 35, was sentenced to life in prison without parole during a sentencing hearing Thursday. In January, he pleaded no contest, according to the Charleston Gazette-Mail.
On Sept. 10, an apparent homicide was reported in Teays Valley, West Virginia. The victim, a 27-year-old woman named Jennifer L. Evans, was found dead by her husband. Some have speculated that Castro and Evans were having an affair while others said that Castro has an interest in Evans and he cut off contact with him.

The day after the murder, he was located and arrested in Braintree after his car was found in the South Shore Plaza parking garage near Target. Police say he was arrested inside the mall without incident.
Casto will be unable to file an appeal.
