BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree police arrested an Attleboro woman in connection to the Jan. 22 shooting at the South Shore Plaza that killed a 26-year-old Dorchester man.

Samantha Schwartz, 27, was taken into custody at 3 p.m. Thursday in Quincy. She was arraigned Friday morning in Quincy District Court and pleaded not guilty to accessory after the fact of a murder.

Dijoun C. Beasley, 26, of Dorchester, was shot while shopping inside a store on the main floor of the South Shore Plaza, authorities said. Authorities also said they identified the South Shore Plaza shooter. Julius Hammond-Desir, 19, of Maynard, is wanted on a murder charge, the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office said Friday.

"Assistant District Attorney Anne Yas asked Judge Maurice Flynn to impose $200,000 cash bail on Samantha Schwartz, and to have her subject to GPS monitoring if she were to post bail," District Attorney Michael Morrissey said. "The judge imposed a $20,000 cash bail and declined to impose electronic monitoring."

The District Attorney's office said they argued for higher bail because of Schwartz's actions in the five days following the shooting. Authorities said she did not go home, changed location repeatedly and has a prior history of not showing up to court dates.
