2016 Taste of Burlington Continues to Impress
2016 Taste of Burlington, food, community event
The Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce’s (BACC’s) 9th Annual Taste of Burlington, which took place on Monday, September 19th at the Boston Marriott Burlington, featured more than two dozen area restaurants and satiated the appetites of a sold out crowd of 500 people. This annual event is unique in that guests and restaurants alike are “able to taste the best of the best while enjoying the company of friends and folks they don’t see often,” said Marge McDonald, who faithfully attends the event each year.
As Presenting Sponsor, the Boston Marriott Burlington provided a beautiful venue and showcased delicious bites from its restaurant, CHOPPS American Bar and Grill. Mercedes-Benz of Burlington sponsored the event’s inaugural VIP Lounge, providing a private, upscale experience to a limited number of guests. VIPs enjoyed a private cocktail hour, cigar rolling presentations, a special gift bag and a gorgeous David Yurman raffle prize, courtesy of Long’s Jewelers. VIP guest Brenda Cahoon remarked, “the event has just become better and better every year.” Guest Lori Michaud described the VIP room as “an impressive touch,” and said she would “attend next year and recommend the event to her Burlington peers.”
As if the delicious food and ambiance wasn’t enough, the BACC bestowed thousands of dollars in raffle prizes and swag bag goodies to both VIP and general admission guests, including the “Ultimate Taste of Burlington” prize. Winner Stephanie Baldasaro of Burlington now gets to dine at all of the participating restaurants! All raffle proceeds benefitted to the BACC’s Charitable Foundation, which supports the Burlington community via scholarships and other initiatives.

It’s important to note that the guests were not the only ones who enjoyed themselves. Adam Mackler, General Manager of the Capital Grille called the Taste of Burlington his restaurant’s “favorite tasting event of the year, and a great way to connect with the community.” Erin DiNatale, General Manager of the forthcoming Island Creek Oyster Bar agreed: “as new members of Burlington’s hospitality community, we loved getting to know our neighbors and new friends in an environment that was fun, casual and well-organized.”
The Taste of Burlington continues to grow in size and popularity year after year, and remains so due to the continued support by the area’s restaurants and thriving business community. Longtime sponsors Riemer & Braunstein, Cambridge Savings Bank, The Gutierrez Company, National Development, Adler Blanchard & Associates, Exit Premier Real Estate and many others help to ensure this event continues to be successful. If you can believe it, planning is already underway for the 2017 event; the 10th Annual Taste of Burlington is sure to be another sell-out night, so be sure to keep an eye out for the latest news about dates, tickets and more at tasteofburlington.org!
