Burlington Coronavirus Update: Bulk Waste Collection Suspended
Republic Services will temporarily stop collecting bulk waste, yard waste and overflow bags.

BURLINGTON, MA — Republic Services is suspending bulk waste, yard waste and overflow bag collection, Burlington announced Friday. Simple recycling collection is also suspended. Regular trash and recycling collection using toters is unchanged, the town said.
The change is in response to an expected reduction in staffing and an increase in trash, according to a release by the town of Tewksbury. The company expects residential trash to increase 30 percent due to people staying home. At the same time, they expect to lose personnel due to quarantine and isolation, pulling people from the bulk and yard waste divisions.
"We ask our residents for help during this emergency by limiting the volume of trash disposal as much as possible," Burlington said.
