A member of the Spanish Honor Society, he had the highest average in AP Spanish and received the Massachusetts Association of Foreign Language Teachers Award for “Excellence in Spanish.” Nick’s most striking academic honor was being named a “National Merit Finalist.” Out of the 1.5 million candidates nationally, only one half of one percent receive that designation, reflecting “exceptional academic promise.” Nick was awarded a National Merit Scholarship administered by the Liberty Mutual Corporation.
