Fox Hill School Recieves iPads (Images)
The iPads, which will be used for educational purposes, were made possible by fundraising by the Fox Hill PTO.
Students at Fox Hill Elementary recently got some technical goodies to help them learn and get familiar with technology.
On May 25, in a school assembly, the PTO presented students, faculty and staff with 30 new Apple iPads for rotating use throughout the school. The gift was made possible by the unprecedented success of the committee’s Technology in the Classroom auction and dinner fundraiser in March which raised $14,000 for the school.
School Principal Ellen Johnson said she was very happy to have the iPads, which will be used to enhance education.

"That evening was so much fun and a huge success,” Johnson said. “The success held a special meaning as I knew Fox Hill students would benefit in far-reaching ways as a result of the efforts and the participation of Fox Hill families and teachers. It will be rewarding to see all of that come together."
According to a release by the PTO, Fox Hill School will use the iPads and other technology to facilitate and support learning in all subjects.

The gadgets are good for both small group and individual instruction, the technology allows students to access information for research, as well as providing teachers with applications that are based on the Department of Education Standards for use in the classroom. Fox Hill teachers will create practice centers where students use the iPads for added practice and instruction replacing paper and pencil.
The PTO would like to give special thanks to lead sponsors for the event, who were the Burlington Breakfast Rotary, Commonwealth Tile, and PJ’s Landscaping. Other sponsors included Cambridge Savings Bank, and .
In-kind donations came from all over the community including , , Litho-Craft Printing Company and the musical talents of the Covergirls: Debbie Gruber and Debye Delorean.
