House Arrest For Man Charged With Hiding Camera In Lahey Bathroom

BURLINGTON, MA -- The 21-year-old Tewksbury man charged with hiding cameras in a staff bathroom at Lahey Hospital in Burlington was released and placed under house arrest following his arraignment in Woburn District Court Tuesday. Michael McDermott pleaded not guilty to three counts of photographing an unsuspecting nude person and one count of possession of a wiretapping device.
McDermot is scheduled to appear again on May 23. As a condition of his house arrest, he will need to where a tracking device and is only allowed to leave his Tewksbury home for medical treatments and probation appointments. He also must stay away from Lahey, according tot he Middlesex District Attorney's office.
Staff at Lahey noticed the camera and reported it to police on March 29. Police believe "multiple people" were filmed while using the staff-only restroom
