Cambridge Man Arrested With Loaded, Large Capacity Gun: Police
Two men were arrested after a resident tipped police off to a possible drug deal.

CAMBRIDGE, MA – A Cambridge man was arrested Monday after police found a loaded "large capacity" gun in his backpack, according to a press release. Demetrius Woodson, 21, and Nasir Abdullah, 21, of Waltham, were stopped after a resident reported seeing two men sitting inside a rental car with New York license plates and believed them to be involved in a drug deal.
Officers found the car blocking the driveway of Franklin Place and saw the driver returning. While one officer stayed with the driver, another found two men in the park allegedly smoking marijuana, police said. They told officers they knew the driver, who was found with multiple bags of marijuana and several bills on the driver's seat, according to police.
Police searched the car and found a red backpack, which Woodson allegedly said was his and had clothes inside. Officers noticed what appeared to be the handle of a black gun inside a jacket in the backpack, police said. It was determined to be a loaded black .45-caliber Glock 21, which none of the people stopped were licensed to own.
