Somerville Man Arrested Following 3-Month Cambridge Drug Investigation (patch.com) — Cambridge police say a three-month investigation into drug distribution in North Cambridge and Central Square led to the arrest of a 65-year-old Somerville man on multiple drug charges. Working with Somerville and State Police, detectives used community tips to build the case and now report several distribution and possession counts involving multiple controlled substance classes.
   

2. Massachusetts Governor Healey honors Good Samaritan with bravery award named after heroic 9-11 flight attendant from the Bay State (fallriverreporter.com) — A Good Samaritan who helped protect people during this spring's Memorial Drive shooting in Cambridge has been honored with the state's Madeline "Amy" Sweeney Award for Civilian Bravery. Governor Maura Healey and other officials praised TJ Swenson's actions, alongside Cambridge police and first responders, during 25th anniversary 9/11 commemorations at the State House.
   

3. Women's Rugby Falls at Harvard (brownbears.com) — Harvard hosted Brown in women's rugby in Cambridge and dominated 76–0, handing the visitors a tough loss on Saturday afternoon. Despite the lopsided score, Brown's coach highlighted key contributions from freshmen and walk-ons as the team regroups in Cambridge before heading to Maryland for its next matchup later this month.
   

4. Massachusetts memorial honors firefighters lost on 9/11 and in the line of duty (wcvb.com) — Massachusetts leaders and firefighters gathered in Boston to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and add 27 names, including firefighters from Cambridge, to the Fallen Firefighters Memorial's Ring of Honor. The ceremony featured a procession from Boston Common and honored those who died in the line of duty as well as those lost in the attacks.
   

5. Watertown Hires New Veterans' Services Officer (watertownmanews.com) — A Marine Corps veteran who recently worked in Cambridge's Department of Veterans' Services has just been hired as Watertown's new Veterans' Services Officer, bringing his VA claims and Chapter 115 expertise to a neighboring community. His Cambridge experience managing veterans' benefits and finances helped shape his commitment to accessible, compassionate support for local veterans and their families.
