Standish Way residents will be dealing with equipment and drills on their street this week and next week, according to Peeling. After that time, the equipment will be moved out, he said.

The four pieces of equipment, including a drill rig, mud mixing unit, pump trailer and pipe trailer will not "encroach on anyone's property," the project manager said.

"If residents or citizens have any special needs, we can accommodate any needs," Peeling said. Folks are asked to contact the for assistance.

All residents on the street were informed about the construction work in-person or through a letter, Peeling told the board.

Construction is taking place from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, he noted.

There will be no blasting, no interruption of water service or any utility service, Peeling said.

The project, which is expected to be completed by August 12, includes drilling 40 feet below I-95, he said. Motorists will not be able to see the drilling with the technology they are using, he noted.

"They'll never see it," Peeling said. "It's all 40 feet underground."

An additional 53 residents and several big, commercial businesses (including Reebok and the Blue Hills) will be getting their water from Canton once the project is completed, Peeling said.
