Canton Welcomes New Public Health Nurse (patch.com) — Canton residents are getting added support for community health with the hiring of public health nurse Kara Johnson, who joined the town's Health Department in July. Drawing on her hospital experience in oncology and orthopedic care, she'll investigate communicable diseases, make home visits, and help residents manage both physical and emotional health needs across Canton.

Westwood Receives GFOA Financial Reporting Award for 29th Consecutive Year (town.news) — Canton has earned the prestigious GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 20th straight year, underscoring the town's strong financial transparency. Finance Director Allyson Podgurski calls the recognition a milestone that raises expectations for future reporting, putting Canton alongside Westwood in sustained, award-winning fiscal accountability.
   

3. Women's Golf Looks for Fifth Straight Red Bandanna Championship (newenglandnewspress.com) — Boston College's women's golf team is back in Canton this week, hosting the Red Bandanna Invitational at Blue Hill Country Club today and tomorrow, Sept. 21–22. Local fans can watch a strong collegiate field compete while honoring Welles Crowther, whose heroism on 9/11 inspired the tournament's name and red bandanna tradition.
   

4. Fiduciary Litigation Session (FLS) (mass.gov) — If you're involved in a complex probate or trust case reassigned to the Fiduciary Litigation Session in Norfolk, your filings now go to the Norfolk Probate and Family Court office on Shawmut Road in Canton. The guidance explains where to mail or hand-deliver documents, how fees and appeals are handled, and which contacts to use for questions about your case.
