Boat Bump Sends One Into the Water

Coast Guard sends an investigator to the scene, nobody seriously hurt.

Two boats collided near the Little Mystic Fuel Pier in Charlestown Wednesday afternoon, but the Coast Guard reports that the incident resulted in little more than a scare.

Chief Petty Officer Jeff Hall reported that one of the boats was a commercial vessel—which is what drew his agency to send an investigator to the scene—and the collision sent one person into the water.

Hall reported that he was unsure which boat the person fell from, but said that she only suffered minor injuries.

“Scrapes and a cut,” Hall said. “Minor first aid took care of it.”

Hall said he was unsure which boat was at fault, and said that his agency was unlikely to enforce any punishment as a result of the incident—though he could not speak for local agencies.
