Car Crashes Into Charlestown Home; 80-year-old Man Injured
An 80-year-old man was lucky to suffer only a broken tooth when a car careened into the wall of his home, striking him as he was in his bed.
An 80-year-old Charlestown man suffered a broken tooth when a car plowed into his home at 3 a.m. Sunday. But it could have been much worse.
"I was asleep, I heard boom, an explosion," Rocky Jesso told Charlestown Patch news partners WHDH.
Jesso was sleeping when the car crashed into his home at 24 Ferrin St. The driver, Michelle Rourk, 22, of Haverhill, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

The impact of Rourk's 2001 Honda coupe knocked the house off its foundations, according to a police report. Jesso's bed, which was against the wall where the impact was made, was thrown all the way across his room.
Jesso, despite the broken tooth, refused medical treatment, according to a police report. City inspectors examined the home and deemed it safe to sleep in.

Police say the Rourk also crashed into a Mercury Sable that parked at the location. She allegedly told police she had had "three or four cranberry and vodkas" and was okay to drive.
