CDC's Tips for a Healthy 2017

Becoming healthier in 2017 doesn't have to be hard; here are some tips from the CDC.

The New Year has arrived and with it, many resolutions and goals to set for ourselves. Improving health is always high on the list, but it can seem like a big task. Becoming healthier in 2017 doesn’t have to be hard; here are some tips from the CDC that take 5 minutes or less to do and can drastically improve your health:

  • Wash your hands
  • Fight the urge to smoke or use tobacco (urges usually pass within 2 minutes)
  • Protect your skin (use sunscreen with SPF 30 and insect repellent with DEET)
  • Buckle up in vehicles
  • Protect your hearing
  • Read food labels
  • Test smoke alarms
  • Know your numbers (blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol)
  • Be up to date on vaccinations
  • Place infants on back to sleep
