Fla. Shooter Is a Townie, According to Locals
Charlestown man shot and taken into custody after he reportedly shot his pregnant girlfriend.

The Charlestown man shot four times in Florida after allegedly shooting his girlfriend is a townie—at least, by some accounts.
Minutes after we posted a link to the story about Marvin Calvin Jones, 22, of 451 Main Street on our Facebook page, a reader questioned Jones’ townie status, but two other women corrected her.
“He use to live in Charlestown as a little boy,” wrote Shannon Casey. “His family is from Charlestown also.”

Reader Elaine Donovan took her assertion one step further.
“He absolutely IS a Townie you guys,” she wrote. ”His Mom was raised in this town as well. She is one of the hardest working women I know. “

Donovan went on to say that something about the story sounded wrong to her, and “I for one choose to pray for all involved.”
According to Boston.com, police shot Jones four times after he ran from—and shot at—officers.
Police reported to the Daytona International Airport to investigate Jones after being told that a man there was waving a gun.
Officers attempted to pull Jones over, reports said, but he ran before firing shots at his pursuers. After police subdued him, Jones allegedly confessed to shooting his girlfriend.
“I shot my wife, my wife has been shot, and I wish you guys would have just killed me,” he said according to police.
Police have not released the name of Jones’ girlfriend—who they say he is not legally married to—but the agency said that she was pregnant at the time that she was shot and hospitalized.
