Pair Robs Woman on Union Street

Notable police incidents from May 7-13.

These reports were submitted from the Boston Police Department and took place within Charlestown's District, A-15. The time and place of the alleged crimes are listed. Persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

May 13: Robbery with a firearm

A victim told officers about 2 p.m., while walking with a friend on Union Street, she stopped to answer her phone when two white males approached her friend and asked for directions. At this point, one of the men pointed a black handgun at her friend demanding his wallet. The suspect also took her handbag and cell phone before both suspects fled towards Warren Street. The matter is under investigation.

Officers on Carney Court placed an individual under arrest for an outstanding Somerville court warrant charging shoplifting.

May 7: Drug arrest

As a result of an on going drug investigation in the area of Essex Street, an individual was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a class B substance.

May 8: Unarmed bank robbery

About 10 a.m., officers for a hold-up alarm. Officers were informed a white male, 5’7”, with a heavy build and a scar on his face gave a note to the teller that stated “empty your drawer.” The suspect was given cash and the note back. He then fled the bank area in a grey SUV that was recovered in Charlestown and had been reported stolen out of Medford. The incident is still under investigation.

May 9: Warrant arrest

Officers on Chelsea Street placed an individual under arrest for an outstanding Chelsea court warrant charging operating after suspension and failure to stop.

May 10: Drug arrest

As a result of a drug investigation in the area of Medford Street, an individual was placed under arrest for possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute it.

May 12: Breaking and entering into a residence

A victim on O’Rielly way reported that she went to bed at 11 p.m. and, when she woke up at 9 a.m., she saw that her cell phone and credit card were missing. There were no signs of forced entry. Detectives will investigate.

May 13: Taxi robbery

About 6 p.m. officers for a report of a cab driver being robbed. The investigation revealed that the driver picked up two males in Somerville and drove them to Charlestown. When he pulled over to drop them off, one of the suspects pointed a black handgun and demanded money. A struggle ensued during which the driver was shot twice in the chest with pellets from what turned out to be a b.b. gun. Suspects then fled in the taxi. As a result of the investigation that followed both suspects were placed under arrest and a black b.b. gun was recovered.
