PHOTO: Car Fire Sets Off Another in Navy Yard

A car parked on 7th Street near 3rd Avenue in the Navy Yard caught fire this weekend and sent flames to another vehicle parked nearby.

Reader @sarahcincotta, who caught the above photo, said that she initially thought that the car had exploded before realizing it was a fire.

The Boston Fire Department reported that it responded to the blaze at 12:33 p.m. Saturday. The flames had already spread to the second car before the crew could extinguish them.

Firefighters left the scene around 1:13 p.m., the department reported. The cause of the fire is not under investigation.

On monday morning, @sarahcincotta reported that she could still see debris from the blaze.
