The mercury spill that brought an emergency team of Boston firefighters to the Navy Yard today has been contained without incident, according to the fire department.
"We have it isolated, now we're waiting for a cleanup company to come out and remove it," said Captain Scott Malone, the incident commander on the scene.
Malone said that the spill occurred this morning (the department originally reported it as happening at 11:30 a.m.) when a small amount of mercury leaked from the pendulum of an old grandfather clock.

One person was contaminated during the incident, Malone said, but the individual was wearin curators gloves at the time that the mercury got on his hands. He removed the gloves, washed his hands and was put through a decontamination procedure.
"He's safe," Malone said.
