Police Release New Image of Child Found Dead on Deer Island Beach, Identity Remains a Mystery
The identity of the child and cause of death in this case have yet to be determined.

An unidentified young girl found dead on a Deer Island beach back in June had pierced ears, according to the Massachusetts State Police.
Officials released an updated computer-generated image of the child with earrings on Thursday. A previous rendering of the child had been viewed more the 47 million times by folks across the country.
“We have confirmed through the Office of Chief Medical Examiner that the toddler had pierced ears,” State Police said.

The identity of the child and cause of death in this case have yet to be determined. Investigators believe the girls was four years old when she died, with brown hair and brown eyes.
The child’s remains were discovered in a trash bag on a Deer Island beach on June 25 by a woman who was walking her dog in the area. Police found a zebra print blanket and white polkadot leggings inside the bag.

Officials don’t believe the girl had been on the beach for very long before her remains were found.
“If you are the parent or caregiver of this young girl, please clear your conscience,” Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley said in a press conference Tuesday afternoon. “Step forward and help us identify this young child.”
Officials say they’ve received many leads, but none matching this case. The investigation remains active and ongoing at this time.
