Union cited mismanagement of school budget and layoffs in their decision.

The Lowell Sun reported Saturday that it obtained a copy of the letter from union President Ben Cole. The vote by the union cited the mismanagement of the school budget and the layoffs that followed.
Earlier this month the Chelmsford Finance Committee voted 6-1 to approve a Fall Town Meeting article that would help with the financial deficit the School Department has been facing. That request, if approved, would transfer $1,108,591 from free cash to to help close the deficit.
