• Market Basket payment systems experience outage, resulting in long lines of shoppers (boston25news.com) — Shoppers at Market Basket in Chelsea were caught in long lines Wednesday afternoon when the chain's payment systems briefly went down, stopping credit and debit transactions for about 30 minutes. Some customers abandoned full carts, and at least one Chelsea shopper described the scene as chaotic on social media. Service was restored, but the company has not yet explained the glitch. 
• Milton and Quincy Join Boston's West Nile High-Risk Zone as Massachusetts Confirms 12th Human Case of 2026 (medicaldaily.com) — Chelsea is now officially listed among 13 Massachusetts communities at high risk for West Nile virus, meaning residents should take extra care with evening outdoor activities this fall. State health officials say older adults and people with chronic illnesses face the greatest danger of severe illness. They urge consistent use of EPA-registered repellents, long sleeves at dusk, and eliminating standing water around homes until the first hard frost.
