4th of July - HUGE JEWELRY SALE - Picnic in the Park - Come Visit the Jewel Queens !!

On July 4th, the United Woman's Club of Concord's - Jewel Queens will be back at Picnic in the Park under the alley of trees at Emerson Playground in Concord.
For over 20 years, we have set up our long tables to raise funds for scholarships for deserving CCHS Seniors. This wonderful event brings the whole town together to celebrate our nation's history. We will open our sale at 11am and sell until 4:30pm.

This year, we have received wonderful donations of jewelry from Concord, Acton, Bedford, Carlisle, Sudbury, Waltham and West Roxbury. We will have 40 feet of bargain costume jewelry and cases of sterling, collectible and better jewelry - it will be treasure trove and a great place to start your holiday shopping early! Our customers have become our friends. Every July 4th is always such a great reunion because our members taught in the Concord schools, worked at Emerson Hospital, Town offices, owned local stores, and served on many of the non-profit Boards in town.
We are your neighbors! Our philanthropic Club was formed at the turn of the century. A few years ago, the West Concord Woman's Club and the Concord Woman's Club merged to become the United Womans Club of Concord, Please save the date for our next fund raising event, Annual Scholarship Fair on Saturday December 3rd at the Harvey Wheeler Community.

Our members are retired women who want to keep busy raising funds for the students. We hope you will find it interesting to know that the current members of the United Woman's Club of Concord are in their late 70s, 80s and 90s.
Picnic in the Park plus our December Fair went so well this year that we were able to give three - $3000. Scholarships to CCHS new graduates: Edith Benedict, Mary Goode and Katrina Schaaf. Congratulations & best wishes to these lovely young women as they head towards their Freshman year in college.
Picnic in the Park is a wonderful celebration: it starts with a patriotic decorated doll carriage & bike parade, has food, hot air balloon rides, bluegrass music, and all sorts of activities for all ages.
Put on your best red, white and blue outfits to celebrate this day. Our Jewel Queens' tiaras will sparkle in the sunshine as they wait for you to come by with your family, neighbors and friends. Please spread the word. Help us have the best and most glorious 4th of July!
